Connect frontline communities to living wage employment opportunities to build a skilled and diverse workforce across the career spectrum.
Learn MoreThe Coalition for Climate Careers (referred to as C3) is a strategic collaboration among public and private organizations and frontline communities, dedicated to establishing an inclusive and prosperous green workforce in King County. We prioritize frontline communities and workers affected by the green economy transition, providing policy guidance, funding for public and private workforce partnerships, promoting green career opportunities, and fostering cross-community collaboration.
The Coalition for Climate Careers envisions a future where local government collaborates with frontline communities, community-based organizations, labor unions, businesses, and educational institutions to create pathways for these communities in King County to participate fully in the green economy. As defined by the King County Green Jobs strategy, frontline communities are disproportionately affected by climate change due to historical inequities, with limited resources to adapt.
Together, C3 aims to promote equitable investment from both public and private sectors, addressing the underrepresentation of women and BIPOC communities in crucial green economy sectors. This effort will also strive to build a workforce that reflects the local demographics while mitigating climate impacts in King County. By leveraging community voices, C3 seeks to expand access to sustainable green and climate-focused careers with living wages, empowering frontline community residents to address climate challenges in their communities.
